Christmas !!

Yeah for CHRISTMAS !!!! We had such a fun time this year with Presley understanding the whole concept of Santa and Presents ! She left Santa a banana and left his reindeer some carrots...so for those of you that don't know we have tried to cut way back on sugar intake and eat more healthy snack...hence no cookies, just fruits and veggies for Santa :). Anyway- as you can see from the video above our Christmas day got started at 2:30am. She was so excited that Santa came and she said "since Santa has come to my house then he has been to all of my friends houses too !!" She was wide open and played with her baby doll and high chair that Santa left her. She wasn't hard to convince that we had to wait until morning to open all of the rest of the presents. I woke Knox up at 8am and he was a little grumpy and out of it until he walked in the living room and saw that Santa had left him a huge ride on Tonka truck. He loved it. He played with each toy before he moved on to open another. Presley just tore into everything, and then assessed what all she had received. It was so fun ! Merry Christmas !
I thought I would start the pics off with one of Knox, who has just bitten the top of the marker off...nice I know :)

Midway and Park city

So our wonderful friends were kind enough to invite us up to spend the weekend in their time share up in Midway, UT.  It was so nice to get away even if it was only 30 minutes up the canyon.  The kids loved staying "in someone else's house", and I loved not having to pick up toys every 5 minutes :).  The kids didn't sleep well so we didn't sleep well, but I guess that is to be expected when they are in a strange place.  We spent Sunday afternoon up in Park City and just walked around and browsed the shops and outlets.  The kids were troopers, it was so stinking cold.  We left on Monday just in time to drive through a snow storm.  Not only was it crazy Icy and super snowy, we drove through Provo Canyon to get home. It was so nerve racking and we were only going 15-20 mph...so scary !! Anyway- here are some fun pics from the weekend !

Knox update...

So it has been 3 weeks since we took Knox to the Gastro and we heard back from the Dr. today.  All of the tests on his poop came back negative.  That is great news, since most of the tests were for intestinal diseases.  We ruled out the bacterial infection with the use of an antibiotic.  So the Dr. said that Knox has a "food protein intolerance".  Which means his little body doesn't process the proteins from dairy or soy (legumes).  So no dairy and no soy... also no beans, and no nuts.  If he has any of it we go right back to the scoots.  It is something that he can grow out of and the Dr. said if we are up to it to reintroduce dairy or soy every 3 months to see how his little body reacts to it.  I think we will give his little bum a break and wait about 6 months.  So that was good news, and now we have an answer, and no more tests for our little bumble :).

Snow !!

Yeah snow !! But Dang it , it was a good enough snow that we won't see grass until spring :(.  Anyway- we had fun playing in it this morning and we are planning on going sledding tomorrow as a family.  Bry finished his last final today so we have him all to ourselves :) ! So let me share a little conversation that I had with Presley this evening and a little experience with knox...I'll start with knox.
Today Knox was getting into something over and over and i finally said "Knox you are being such a booger !" so he looks at me all concerned and sticks his finger to his nose.  Cracked me up.
This evening Presley was up a little later than usual so I thought I would spend the time just talking about the day. First she tells me " I don't like parties mommy, only birthday parties" So I just say okay.
Me- "tell me about your day.  Did you have fun with your friends today ?"
Presley - "Ya, when I get angry I call them stupid"
Me- "Presley that is not a nice word, we don't say that to people"
Presley - " Keemie says it" ( a friend in the quad)
Me - " Well he gets in trouble for saying it too.  It hurts peoples feelings, it hurts their heart.  It makes Jesus sad when you say mean things to people"
Presley " Well... I will only say it until he comes back."

What in the World !!! Too smart I tell ya !  Here are some snow pics.

All about me !

Well this post is all about me, so I could post another pic, but I think that last post with a picture of just me was about as narcissistic as I want to get.  So anyway- here we go.  The year of 2008 has been an awesome learning experience for me as far as sewing and knitting and crafting go.  I learned first to make hair bows and then headbands, I made dress up clothes for Presley, a Hooter hider for my friend, Presleys Halloween costume, Stockings for Christmas and now Apron's... I love them.  They have a place in the mall that sells apron's that are like these.  I love that they are so feminine and flirty.   I made one fore myself and the rest as gifts.  I am also going to make Presley one that matches mine.  Here are some pictures of my latest work !

Fallowfield Family

Well not much has been going on in the Fallowfield household over the last couple of weeks.   We stayed here in our apartment for Thanksgiving and started some of our own family traditions, and we will do the same for christmas.  We will hear from Knox's GI this week and he will let us know what the test results say from his poop :)... We have switched him to rice milk and it has made a huge difference in the # of dirty diapers.  He really likes the rice milk too.  Bryan has been super busy with school, he had 2 big papers due back to back and a test last week.  He will be finished with this semester soon, and I am anxious to have him home.  Im still doing pitching lessons in SLC once a week and down here in Provo on saturday morning.  I have learned how to knit and have been working several weeks on making a lamb.  The end product doesn't look like a lamb, more like a manatee, but it was fun to learn all the basics of knitting.  So now I am on to knitting a scarf.  Presley has been doing great putting herself to bed and staying in her bed all night. She is so stinking sassy...I asked her to do something the other day and she huffed and said " You have got to be kidding me" all irritated, I wonder where she has heard that one.  She is a silly girl.  She is all about baby dolls again, you know how it cycles with what they are interested in ?.  She has asked Santa for a Baby doll with clothes for Christmas.  Alright so here are some of our family pictures from the other day.  We didn't include the one we are using for our christmas cards.  Hopefully we will get those mailed out this week.

Knox Update

Alright, so we use this blog not only to keep our family and friends up to date with what is going on in our lives, but also as a journal for our children.  So here goes one that isn't a super fun read.  We got a call yesterday letting us know that there was a cancellation at the Gastroenterologist that Knox was scheduled to see at the end of Dec, and that we could come this morning at 10.  So we made the trip up to Salt Lake City to see the specialist.  The visit went well.  We now have a direction in which we are moving to get answers to his chronic diarrhea.  Nice I know, but many of you already know this and know that it has been going  on since June.  The original Celiac disease test came back negative.  When we went today he said that that particular test can give false negatives, but he doesn't think that it is celiacs but that is the next test if nothing comes back on the first which is a stool sample...Haha...fun fun, since his poop is so runny and mucussy, we get to put Saran wrap in his diaper wait til he poops then pour it into a container and take it to the lab.  Sounds like it can get a little messy.  They are looking for red and white blood cells in his stool.  The Dr. thinks that it could possibly be colitis so we are following that route first, then a 3 day round of antibiotics to rule out a bacterial infection and then a 12 day cycle of super strength probiotics.  If all of that comes back clear and good on to the celiac testing and if that is clear on to a couple other steps...If all comes back clear then he will be diagnosed with a motility dysfunction that is unspecified and we will have to add more fiber and fat and cut back on liquid.  Are you all enjoying this ?  If it is colitis they will have to scope his bowels to try and find out were the inflammation is and then biopsy that section.  Oh ya and we have to take him off soy milk too and on to Rice milk, ugh, poor thing.
So that is where we are with our little man.  He is such a trooper.  He has the best temperament.  He is so patient and happy and I am anxious to make his tummy troubles go away.  He loves to wrestle with the boys outside and he will run and and say "push" before he pushes or "punch" before he punches.  We were at Ikea today and he told his daddy "daddy wait".  He is a clever little man.  He loves his big sister.  Presley had an awesome day today- no fits or crying out bursts... It was wonderful and weird at the same time to have such a happy child even when she was told no.

Milestone

Knox has started putting words together.  Yesterday 11-15-2008, Knox said to his little neighbor friend..."bye bye Lilly" and today he said "night night sissy" at nap time.  I know its not huge but it is a start for an 18 month old.  He is so dang cute ! Presley is just as busy as a bee and likes to push our buttons any opportunity that she gets.  She is still super sweet and today we asked her..."why do you want to watch second Hand Lions all the time?" and her reply "Their are no witches in it".  I guess that is what we get, she watches Cinderella, enchanted, and sleeping beauty a lot and she hates the witches.  Bry caught her singing a song today "birds drink water, birds drink water, birds drink water so they can grow" and then she threw in a neighbor boys name..."sammy drinks water, sammy drinks water so he can grow".  Alright, just an update for their growth and progression.

Halloween Post #2

Happy Halloween !! Alright I know it is over but we had fun while it lasted. We went trick or treating at Helaman halls last night with our friends from Wymount and had a ton of fun. I think about what good memories these group outings will be for Presley and Knox. It will be an adjustment for her when we move back into the real world when there aren't 20 other kids to play with just outside her front door. It does have its down side, but we are enjoying it. SO I was kind of expecting some compliments on the costume I made for Presley...Uh hello people, you do understand that sewing is soooo foreign to me and I am super proud of myself, I mean I would have been happy with anything that resembled a dress but I did this :)!! Just making myself feel good ! Knox was a Lion, it was his cousin Madison's costume when she was little and besides her Knox was the cutest Lion ! He was so cute at the doors he knocked on and said "tick o teet". Anyway- Enjoy a ton of pictures !

So here we are at the Pumpkin patch Tuesday before Halloween to pick Pumpkins...

Presley wanted a picture with the kitty Cat for her cousin Teagan

This is my Handsome Lion...He didn't like the head piece

Knox's 18 month...

Knox had his 18 month well check the other day here are his stats

33 in tall- 60%
24.9 lbs- 35-40 %
48.8 cm head circumference- 60%

He is happy and healthy and is sooooo sweet !! I love him so much.  He loves to give snuggles and to be held.  He is the loviest baby.  Anyway- we did have one thing that is of concern...He has chronic diarrhea (nice I know) so much so that I have quit the cloth diaper business for a while.  He is have about 5-8 poop diapers a day and I just don't have enough time to be rinsing that many diapers.  Anyway- he has always had tummy troubles.  It took 6 months for us to figure out that he had a problem with milk/soy products...(a protein deal) and then since 13 months he has had chronic diarrhea.  So he has just been tested for Ciliacs disease.  A wheat/Gluten intolerance and we should find out soon.  No big deal, if he does have it, it seems to be on the mild side and not life threatening.  It would just be  dietary change that might actually benefit our family.

Halloween Post #1

We had our ward Halloween party last night and we had so much fun. Our Activities committee did a great job planning fun for the kids ( And BYU softball I didn't say scheduled fun). We went for the trunk or treat and bry and I didn't drive just took a parking spot and handed out candy. I made Presley's costume this year. She wanted to be Belle from Beauty and the Beast so I got to sewing and I think it turned out pretty good. I wanted to post some flashback Halloween pics of the kiddies. Enjoy !
This is Presleys 1st Halloween (6 mos.)

Presley's 2nd Halloween (18 mos), not such a good costume choice when it is still 75 degrees in South Carolina in October :)
Knox's first Halloween (6 mos)

Presley as Goldie Locks her 3rd Halloween 2 1/2 years (I made this costume too)

Last night- 3 beauties and a beast...Knox 18 mos , Presley 3 1/2 years
My friend Talena and I had the same pattern for the Belle dresses...
I made a toole skirt for her to wear under her dress to puff out her dress...

Oh and Best for last... Senators Sarah Palin and (a very white) John McCain :). He wanted to go as Barak Hussein Obama, but wasn't to sure if it was politically correct to paint himself brown :) I think he could have pulled it off.
