Knox update...

So it has been 3 weeks since we took Knox to the Gastro and we heard back from the Dr. today.  All of the tests on his poop came back negative.  That is great news, since most of the tests were for intestinal diseases.  We ruled out the bacterial infection with the use of an antibiotic.  So the Dr. said that Knox has a "food protein intolerance".  Which means his little body doesn't process the proteins from dairy or soy (legumes).  So no dairy and no soy... also no beans, and no nuts.  If he has any of it we go right back to the scoots.  It is something that he can grow out of and the Dr. said if we are up to it to reintroduce dairy or soy every 3 months to see how his little body reacts to it.  I think we will give his little bum a break and wait about 6 months.  So that was good news, and now we have an answer, and no more tests for our little bumble :).

What a relief!! Hey, speaking of bums....great bum cream for kids...Calmoseptine...it is non-prescription, but you have to ask for it. They keep it behind the counter. FYI -- I'm just full of great info!! :-) Have fun seeing the lights this weekend!

Seems like we've been in the same boat. When you do try to re-introduce dairy I've found that using greek yogurt is the best way to go. You can buy it but it's pricey. Or we got a yogurt strainer (about 15 bucks) and strain plain all natural yogurt. It makes it really thick and we add protein powder to it and call it ice cream or ranch powder for the veggies. Kooper eats it up like crazy. Just make sure it's natural yogurt and not one that has all the additives. Plus, you could get a higher fat content to if you're trying to up that for him a bit. Good luck...it's a bit annoying but WAY better than something really serious!

Wow! I am so glad to hear the good news for little Knox. Presely is getting so big and that was a great picture of her, with the snow falling and all. Great job on the aprons! I'll be looking for mine in the mail. :)
