Busy weekend...

BYU family housing had its opening social this past Saturday.  We were planning on going but not too sure what all it would entail.  The activities started at 10am and I had pitching lessons that were from 9:30-10, so Bry wanted to get the kids out of the house too and they came along to my lesson, didn't stay, just dropped me off and they went and got breakfast.  So we leave my lesson and pull into our parking lot and you could see all of the blow up stuff...big slide, jumping area, basketball game...Presley was so excited !! She kept saying "oh thank you mommy, daddy "  "I love you". It was way cute.  We took our stuff up and the day began.  We did the party until 12:30, played outside with friends until 3 and went to see Kung Fu Panda, came home played with friends for another hour and then went to our stake activity, which was a Chinese festival and had Chinese food for dinner, and then a little more playing, baths, and bed by 8:15.  They were both so spent ! We barely had time to sit (minus the movie).  It was fun though and BYU beat UCLA 59-0 in the football game here on the same day ! I guess I should mention how beautiful the weather is here.  Our high has been about 83 for the last week and a half. Absolutely gorgeous and makes us spend all day outside.  Anyway- here are some pics from Saturday.

This is the outfit she started the day in...she was being shy for the camera, cracks me up the face she makes when she is shy so here it is...

My two handsome boys...Bry's eyes are just one of the many reasons I married him :)

Dance class for Presley

Presley started her dance class on tuesday of this week. It will go through May 16, 2009. She was super excited about going and she had so much fun. It is a 45 minute class and they have asked that parents not stay, which won't be a problem for us since there is a play ground right next to the building for knox to play on. She was excited about all the new friend she would make and it was so cute with all the little girls in their little dance outfits with tutu's. Here is a pic of her ready to go to dance and since she was grinning and saying cheese Knox couldn't resist jumping in the pics too...

Presley's new dresses...

So let me begin by saying I am no seamstress.  I have however started to sew.  My friend got this fun pinafore pattern to make dress up stuff for our daughters that would help encourage them to keep their play clothes on underneath.  They always wanted to take everything off to put on a tutu or whatever and it was getting to be a battle to keep them modest while allowing them to have fun.  Anyway, my friend has an awesome sewing machine (Bernina) So I did the majority of the sewing at her house. These are two of my finished products...Not bad for a beginner.  I have to say that I am pretty proud of myself, and Presley is super excited about her dresses.  So with this new found confidence, not too much but enough, I have decided to make her Halloween costume.  We went to JoAnn's last week and I let her pick a costume pattern and she chose to be BELLE, so tonight I cut out the pattern and over the next several weeks the sewing will begin.  I will post pics of it when I am done.  So here are the two dresses that I made...

And I did the hem so I can let it out as she grows.  My peanut is only 3, and it will grow with her until she is 6.  I hope the stitching can withhold this dancing wild woman.

Family Fun !

We have had a busy week this week. This was Bryan's last week off before school started back up for the fall so he made sure that we did some fun stuff. You can see from the previous post we have been busy doing things close to home. So we have two of the most awesome families here in our quad that we do fun stuff with all the time. We BBQ'd all summer, just out in the quad, took turns feeding each others families, and played, played, played. This week was a lot the same as far as eating together goes, except for the fact that one of our meals was caught by the daddy daughter duo's. Bryan took Presley and our two friends took their daughters fishing up at Deer Creek and caught some trout and on sunday we had a feast. For family night we all went up to Thanksgiving Point to the farm. The kids had a blast and so did we. It was fun to see all of the animals and to see the excitement of the kids. I feel so grateful that we have these friends to share our BYU experience with. We are all in the same stage of life, young families and husbands in school. Our single mothers group will be picking back up now that our husbands are back in school. Thank goodness for the quad and having other women to talk to and to being able to walk out our front door and have a playground with friends on it. Here are some pics from the fun !
