Dentist and Plumbers crack

Today was the kiddies first trip to the Dentist. Presley was absolutely terrified when they did her x-rays. She was crying so her mouth was open and she wouldn't bite down on the little plate that they had in her mouth so they had to hold it shut, which made her freak. Knox was next and he was a little anxious after witnessing his sister crying, but he was brave. he cried a little, but they worked quick and after they were done he says "tank too". Love that boy. They got a snow white toothbrush and a cars toothbrush and they were both super excited. Then the exam came with the Dentist and he was awesome. The kids did great and they have great teeth. No cavities. Now on to the second title of this post.

Today Presley pulled her pants half way down her bum in the back trying to be cute with me today. I said "No mam, that is not nice, we do not show our bums to anyone." Alright I tried to overreact just a little so she will know that it is not appropriate. Anyway- so then I say "Where in the world did you learn that?" She said, "Daddy do's it when he goes like this" Then she bends over- I about lost it- It was stinking hilarious and I am glad Bry was home to hear it, she is very perceptive. Time to keep your pants up Bry.:) oh and P.S. Thats not Bry's bum...haha

blah, blah

What to post about ?? Things have been pretty boring in our household the last couple of weeks.  We have been doing a lot of nothing staying inside.  We are ready for it to warm up already.  I have resumed pitching lessons after giving everyone sometime off for the holidays.  Presley's dance class has picked back up too.  Knox is bouncing off the walls inside.  He is such a sweet baby, he always says "Tank too, Momma" when I give him anything.  I have been sick the last couple of days and I think he is getting sick too, so tonight he was fussing a little and I decided to give him some medicine.  I went in his room and rolled him over and gave him some benadryl and motrin and afterwards he says "tank too momma".  Oh melt my heart !  Bry has been busy getting used to this semesters schedule.  He has signed up to work for a company in Nashville for the summer, so the kids and I will head there for only some of the summer, summers in Ymount are super fun for the kids and it will be cheaper if we stay here.  Anyway- same ole, same ole.  I am sure the kids will come up with something to blog about soon. Hope all is well and for those of you who are prego, good luck the time is winding down fast.

sweet dreams...

i was putting presley to bed this evening and told her to have sweet dreams.  we had read a curious george book the other day that talked about dreams.  she said "i don't like to have dreams like curious george."  she was sad that her mommy wasn't home, so i was trying to comfort her by telling her how much fun dreams can be.  i said "i like having dreams.  sometimes i dream about ponies...".  she quickly interjects "no! boys don't dream about ponies, only girls do."  i say "so what do boys dream about? motorcycles?"  she says "yes.  and mommies dream about clothes."  needless to say i got a laugh out of that.  curious how much these little children observe.  so little girls dream about ponies, little boys dream about motorcycles, daddies dream about motorcycles, and mommies dream about clothes.  who would have thought life could be so simple.  sweet dreams everyone.

Patriotism and Religion: A Little Experiment

I have been doing some research for a term paper and thought that it would be interesting to share some of the quotes I have found as an experiment.  Read the quotes and post your guess as to which historic character made these statements.  No googling or cheating, just your guesses.  I will reveal the historic character in a post next week.  Enjoy.

Heaven will smile on us again.

The task of preserving and advancing the highest humanity, given to this earth by the benevolence of the Almighty, seems a truly high mission.

We... can conceive of the state only as the living organism of a nationality which not only assures the preservation of its nationality, but by the development of its spiritual and ideal abilities leads it to the highest freedom.

The National Government will regard it as its first and foremost duty to revive in the nation the spirit of unity and cooperation.  It will preserve and defend those basic principles on which our nation has been built.  It regards Christianity as the foundation of our national morality, and the family as the basis of national life.

By helping to raise man above the level of bestial vegetation, faith contributes in reality to the securing and safeguarding of his existence. Take away from present-day mankind its education-based, religious-dogmatic principles-- or, practically speaking, ethical-moral principles-- by abolishing this religious education, but without replacing it by an equivalent, and the result will be a grave shock to the foundations of their existence.

The general designation 'religious' includes various basic ideas or convictions, for example, the indestructibility of the soul, the eternity of its existence, the existence of a higher being, etc. But all these ideas, regardless of how convincing they may be for the individual, are submitted to the critical examination of this individual and hence to a fluctuating affirmation or negation until emotional divination or knowledge assumes the binding force of apodictic faith. This, above all, is the fighting factor which makes a breach and opens the way for the recognition of basic religious views.

So, who said these things?

Potty Training !

So I guess it is official, we are starting potty training...Fun-probably not, but he is super interested and proud of his new potty.  I figure since it is winter and we are inside a ton it is a great time to begin. For those of you with boys that are potty trained be prepared for questions...I know I am going to have them. Presley was cake to potty train, I anticipate that this might NOT go as smoothly.  Anyway- here is a blurred pic of him on his potty.

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!

So I guess this is our first post of 2009 !! Yeah ! There hasn't been much going on between Christmas and New Years, I had a birthday, we played in the snow...nothing too exciting.  Yesterday we spent the afternoon with our friends and ate at the Olive Garden.  Then last evening we went to our friends the Kimlinger's and the kids played, we snacked, and played Wii until 10:30, then we went to the Martineau's and had a traditional mexican meal for New Years.  It was so yummy and fun to put together.  Knox lasted until 11:45, which is pretty good considering he goes to bed between 6:30-7pm.  Presley made it until 2am !! She was so funny.  The Martineau kids and Presley ran around the quad banging pots and pans, yelling Happy New Year !!  Actually Presley was saying "Happy Halloween", but whatever Happy something right ?.  So Happy New Year to everyone, we wish you all a year filled with prosperity and health.  I guess I will list a couple of things that I would like to work on this year....

1.  Money Management...you would think that not having much would make it easy, but I need to improve.
2. Run another 1/2 marathon- drop 10 lbs.
3. Be better organized
4. Meal plan
5. Read more spiritually uplifting things...
6. Relax
7. Read more  ( of everything)
8. Learn to quilt
9. Be a better wife and mother
10. Eat healthy

Alright so there you go, my list is in writing...I guess I should get to work :)
