Presley's New Hair

So I know this has been a much anticipated post. It has taken a while to post because we haven't been too happy with the way things turned out with the wig. It took 6 1/2 hours to make the wig for Pres. She was such a patient girl. Her hairstylist hastily cut the bangs so Pres could see before she finished the wig and it ruined the whole hair piece. A normal wig is made out of about 1 1/2 wefts of hair and to make Presley's she used 4 ( by using so many she made it seamless, you can run your hand down the back of her head you can't feel a thing and you can part it and not see the seams )!! So it was soooooooooo thick and she started the bangs that she cut at the top of her head...UGH ! So needless to say we are very dissappointed, but Pres is so happy. She was so cute with just the first wefts being glued on she was stroking the hair. She has loved tossing it around. So we took her back in on friday and got it thinned again and cut by a different stylist. She tried to fix it, but the bangs overwhelm her little face. We still prefer her with short hair. Anyway- here are the pics :)

Rockin and Rollin Ready for her Pony Tail and so happy :)...

Watching a movie while Ms. Jackie is gluing her wefts to the cap...

LOL :)...This was her after 6 1/2 hours :) she was giving everyone dirty looks, and all of the stylists were excited for her and wanting to see her...

A good shot of the over powering bangs and too much hair...

Friday ager getting it thinned and some of the bangs pulled back into topsy tails...

Okay- still modeling the hair, but I didn't place it right so her ears are sticking out a little, and she is standing like that cause she thinks its pretty :)

2 Pig tails on sunday afternoon...

HAPPY 4th of JULY !

We always have fun on the 4th of July :) ! We are in a different state this year with the kids and we still found a great venue for fireworks and music. We went our good friends Brad and Shelly to a park down on the river. We ate hotdogs and had soda to kick off our American evening. Knox is still afraid of fireworks, not like a kicking and screaming scared but a cover his ears and face and he was good. he didn't even want to look at them. Pres and Maryn enjoyed them though and the weather was unbelievable for a summer evening in Tennessee. Hope you all are doing well and that you all had a wonderful 4th.

Maryn is 10 months :)

Maryn is 10 months old :) ! She is such a sweet baby. She can say "momma, dada, and hi". She can clap her hands, fold her arms, and wave. She is a crawlin professional and has started standing on her own and cruising all of the furniture. She loves to poke her tongue out and blow raspberries. She def has the attitude of being the baby in the family. Her sister loves to cater to her every need. She still only has the 2 bottom teeth and loves to scrunch her nose when she smiles. We sure do love this bumble bee.

Florida

We were fortunate enough to hop in with my sister and her family on a trip to Pensacola (June 18-June 22). I mean really, who goes on vacation when they don't have a job...ummm , we do :)! So thanks to Randy and Steph for the ride down and Grandma and Granpa for a place to stay and a van to drive :) It was a beautiful weekend to go to Florida. The water was so clear. My sister Karen and her family were over from Jacksonville for a wedding so it was nice to also have their pool to use if we wanted. The first day Knox was scared to death of the waves and didn't even get in the water except for the time that Bry and I took him in trying to show him he would be okay. It was so stinkin hot I don't know how he managed not to get in the water. The next day the water was super calm and clear so he got brave and ended up loving the beach. Pres was a waterbug and Maryn slept under the umbrella most of the time. We managed not to have anyone overly burned, and that was a miracle since Pres will fry so easy.

Rain...

The kids had the opportunity to experience a good ole southern thunderstorm last week. It rained so hard for about 20 minutes it flooded in the front of my moms yard. After the lightning had passed we sent them out to do what I used to do in the huge puddles...they loved it :)

Love his pose with the backward underwear :)

Love their cousins...
Some thumbs up :)

The pool...

My moms neighbors have a pool. They have been kind enough to tell us to come swim whenever we want. So on Monday we decided to go up for an hour and swim. I hadn't bought the kids floaties or floats yet, just wanted to see how they liked the idea of swimming. Maryn was home asleep so it was just Presley, Knox and I. They both did great. They clung to me super tight. I sat them both on the ladder and told them to stay there while I got this gigantic wasp out of the water. So I went about 10 feet from them scooped the wasp up on a pool brush and placed it on the side of the pool. While I was looking at it and deciding to squish it with the brush Presley yells "mommy, mommy Knox jumped in". I turn to see just a foot in front of the stairs two little hands frantically waving above the water. He was completely submerged and only from his wrists up were above the water. I swam over and pulled out my screaming Knox. He was terrified and luckily held his breath under the water. He was super shaken up and kept telling me "That I don't like to die". He was only under maybe 7 seconds. It happened so quick and the time it took for me to get to him felt like forever. It really made me think about how quickly we can lose them. That in every instance of drowning accidents you always hear how quickly it happened. He wanted to swim and so he just jumped in. He is now much more cautious, we got life jackets and floaties. We sure do love this sweet boy. While putting him to sleep last night ( which we never do but he wanted to snuggle) he closed his eyes and stroked my face until he fell asleep. So sweet, it is going to make it hard when he gets big and is a big butt head :)
