Joy of Parenthood...

Well today I have been having a nice little pity party for myself. Presley is really struggling in her dance class. Not because she doesn't enjoy it or doesn't want to dance but because she has entered into a battle of wills with the teacher. We deal with her strong willed personality everyday and I can't say that it is easy. She is a child who will do something she knows she isn't supposed to and you give her a discipline of some sort, spanking, time out, priveledges taken, whatever...she will cry and then turn right around and do it again to see if you still have the same resolve to discipline her again. You can see the wheels turning in her head as she is contemplating the concequences. So there is a little back ground of where we are with her. She has boundaries in dance class for good reason. it is a class full of 3 year olds who would run crazy with out rules. Presley has learned to push those boundaries and test her teacher. So now she has to leave early when she starts causing problems. I haven't discussed the issues that we deal with at home with her and it was funny that the teacher told me on the phone the other day " I can see in Presley's eyes when she walks in and looks at me...she is saying , ready, set, here we go ". Lovely !! Why in the world do I have the only testy child in that whole class...15 kids and Presley is the issue...Ugh. So I have been feeling bad today that Bry and I are not doing our jobs...why won't she mind ? Why won't she listen ? Why isn't she eager to please like most children her age ? I said pity party...just having a hard day dealing with the fact that we have a super strong willed child.

It's a .....

So we went to have an ultrasound this morning. This was just to check the bleed on my uterus. Which has healed beautifully, thank goodness :). Anyway- we took Presley with us to have her ask the ultrasound tech "is that my baby brother or baby sister?", just in case they weren't going to check. No need though, the tech asked if we wanted to know and we said yes. So....Presley is going to have her wish granted and have a baby sister. It's a girl ! We are excited to have another sweet baby girl join our family. Everything looks good and we will have another ultra sound in 3 weeks. It was really neat to see her move around and see her little profile. She was laying on her back with her legs folded to where her toes were touching her head. Now begins the name game ! We knew with Presley before we were through our first trimester that if it was a girl her name would be Presley, and if a boy Knox. So now what...this should be interesting for us :)

Where to start...

Presley and her friend Debbie
Knox with his friends Debbie, David, and Isaac
Isaac, Presley, and Debbie
Alright so it has been a while since I have blogged, not because there hasn't been much to blog about, but I have just been lazy.  Lets see where do we start...First I want to talk about my first experience having children stare and tease Presley because of her hair.  We were at McDonald's in the play place and she was eating her lunch.  Two kindergarten age children walked up behind her literally about a foot away and were pointing at her head saying "she looks like a boy".  Presley didn't notice but I turned to them and said "Can I help you with something", trying to scare them away and my friend said to them "you need to go play".  Presley was oblivious to the situation but i wanted to rip the little girls pigtails off ! I was really bugged because her mother was right behind us and didn't say a thing about what had just happened. So that instance just showed me I have a long way to dealing with other kids when they are purposely trying to hurt her feelings.  2nd on the list...Presley being disruptive and disturbing all the kids in her dance class.  She is super strong willed and likes to test anyone when they tell her not to do something, so she has been breaking rules in dance class and the other kids are following so we got a special call from her teacher to figure out what to do about it.  So hopefully she has learned her lesson.  3rd- Knox is starting to throw tantrums, the kind where he will roll around on the ground and cry, but since I am not a very....um I guess patient parent, I just ignore him and they seem to be getting better.  He is such a good talker.  He can say 4 word sentences and is still very lovey and sweet.   We have been enjoying the 70 degree weather this past week and have spent all day everyday outside.  Bry is still crazy busy with the end of the semester quickly approaching and papers coming due.  I am 4 months along in the pregnancy and still have the subchorionic bleeding. I have a Dr's appt this week and they are going to send me to a perioneantologist (?).  Ya I can't say it either to check the bleed.  I have been really frustrated with the Dr.'s office since they won't do an ultrasound to check the bleed.  I just want some peace of mind that it is resolving and not getting bigger.  A bigger separation will cause an abruption and a miscarriage.  Anyway- I am sure everything is fine but to see it would make me feel a ton better.  Knox loves to talk into my belly button and say "hello baby". Next, I took Presley on a mommy daughter date with a couple other friends and their daughters to the BYU vs. Utah gymnastics meet last week.  She loved it.  Mostly because we get popcorn and treats when we go to sporting events.  well I guess that about catches us up on what we have been up to.  Hope you are all doing well.

I'm an Aunt !!

Well actually I am an aunt for the 6th time ! My sister Karen and her husband welcomed their 2nd child into the world this morning.  William Norell Privett was born at 11:59am, 7lbs even, and 20 inches long.  Everything went smoothly and mom and baby are doing well.  We are excited for his big sister now that she has a little brother although, when she was going to the hospital to meet him for the first time she told my mom "lets kick him".  Haha, she was serious.  Karen and Jason are going to have their hands full acclimating this little lady to another baby biding for her parents attention.  So we are excited to see our new nephew and Presley is anxious to meet her new cousin.  Hopefully he won't be too big by the time we get to Florida.

A little Boring...

Alright, like I start most posts, not much has been going on.  We have been stuck inside for a while.  The weather is just starting to turn and we are getting a chance to be outdoors.  Presley and Knox both had ear infections, Knox in both ears and Presley in one, they got the Antibiotic shot.  So much more convenient than the 10 day doses.  A little painful for the bumbles but temporary.  Bryan is still busy with school, Im anxious for him to have a break for the summer.  I am still doing pitching lessons and busy chasing 2 toddlers at home while dealing with the fatigue of pregnancy.  Presley asks me everyday if that is the day her baby sister is going to come out of my belly.  I can tell I am feeling better, my house is staying clean and my kids are being entertained.  Presley is doing well in Primary at church and Knox is starting to get a little anxious about nursery, he doesn't cry but clings to my leg for a little bit before he gets comfortable.  Alright- enough rambling, Im sure something will come up that I can blog about soon :). Hope all is well with everyone !
